About the aurthor

After suffering physically and emotionally from an incurable illness, Nirit Littaney channeled her strength and triumph of spirit to an outlet that would bring joy to others. Her journey to writing imaginative books for children was not an easy one, but the struggles she has overcome along the way have enabled her to create memorable and humorous characters.

Her characters swim the depths of the ocean, traverse through midnight dreams, and walk the same streets as the real children who read about them before snuggling into bed. Nirit weaves subtle life lessons into her tales of strength and courage, and brings each world to life with vivid illustrations.

Israeli author Nirit Littaney is a nutritionist, medical coach, and spiritual leader. After being confined to her bed for years by an incurable illness, Nirit experienced the same triumph of spirit that many of her characters undergo in their journeys through lands near and far. She has successfully joined the ranks of children’s books writers – but her stories, while humorous, encourage children to stretch their imagination while learning some valuable lessons. She has wisely elected to have Emily Zieroth provide the illustrations for this new children’s book to appear on Kindle.

Zoe is a curious girl who enjoys five different pets and dreams of visiting the zoo to see more animals. On her fourth birthday she gets her wish (Zoe’s father is a veterinarian and an animal scientist). The family goes to the zoo and Zoe sees elephants and learns about them and their useful long trunks. Next she sees giraffes and learns a lot about them – the reason their necks are long, that they sleep standing up, and more. Then come the peacocks, zebras, lions, swans, monkeys (with a little stop for ice cream), hippos, and bears. With each animal Zoe learns many things and when she gets home after her dream trip she finds her birthday present – a rabbit!

An adventure trip where Zoe and the readers will learn many things about the animal kingdom and have a great time at the zoo. Very fine little book, rich in color and information, and a sure bet that it will be a favorite with children. Grady Harp, June 15

Do you like animals? Have you ever been to the zoo?

The author, Nirit Littaney, has written a fun and educational book about a little girl named Zoe. It was almost Zoe’s birthday, and when her parents asked her what she would like to do, she told them she wanted to visit the zoo. So, on that day, early in the morning, off they went to the zoo. What a big place. Zoe’s father took care of sick animals, and he discussed every animal they saw that day. He told Zoe about the elephant’s and their big trunks, the giraffe and it’s long neck, the zebras, the lions, the monkeys, the peacocks, the hippos and the swans. When you read this book you will see everything that Zoe learned, and the big surprise at home.

Parents/teachers will enjoy reading this book to their children. The children will enjoy learning about all of these animals, and they will have many questions. The illustrations by Emily Zieroth are bright, vivid and colorful. They depict all of the activities of the animals and Zoe in the zoo. This is a fun book to read, but it is also full of facts and information about the zoo animals. Nite: a complimentary copy of this book was provided to read and review.

I recently received a copy of this book as a gift and was so pleased with the story and pictures. It took me back nearly 50 years to my first visit to Hogle Zoo in Utah. I remember sticking my head in the lion’s mouth drinking fountain, and being overcome with all the new sights, sounds…and smells. The excitement of that visit was captured beautifully for me in the pages of this fun storybook. I’m looking forward to my grandchildren coming for a visit so I can share it with them.

The book is more than just your typical bedtime tale – it’s actually quite informative and educational. I would recommend it to parents of small children, especially those that are just learning to read. I know my granddaughter, that can read, enjoys entertaining her younger siblings by reading to them. Overall, Zoe’s Trip is a very nicely done children’s book and one worth having in your digital library.
