Zigi the Alien and the Laughter Journey  Nirit Littaney Israeli author. Nirit is a nutritionist, medical coach, and spiritual leader. After being confined to her bed for years by an incurable illness, Nirit experienced the same triumph of spirit that many of her characters undergo in their journeys through lands near and far. She has successfully joined the ranks of children’s books writers – but her stories, while humorous, encourage children to stretch their imagination while learning some valuable lessons. She has wisely elected to have the very talented Abira Das provide the illustrations for this her second of four children’s book to appear on Kindle.

We encounter Zigi again, a friendly harmless alien who visits Earth for various reasons. As Nirit states at the beginning, ‘On Zigi’s home planet, Nepi, all the aliens are very serious. Most aliens only laugh a few times their whole life! They don’t have funny movies or jokes. Nepi can get pretty boring sometimes! Zigi, on the other hand, loves to laugh! Unfortunately, he doesn’t get a lot of chances to giggle at home. So, Zigi decided to come visit Earth, so he could laugh and enjoy himself for a while.’

Zigi’s entertainment comes in the form of a man who steps on a bright pink ball of gum, a little boy who loses his ice cream to a bird, street performers, two concentrating people who bump into each other, a trip to the amusement park where a lady on a Ferris wheel loses her hat and a little girl who hugs here new balloon so tight that it pops, a little boy in a supermarket who runs so fast that he makes cans fall off the shelf, and all these funny events make Zigi laugh so hard he gets the hiccups and returns to his own planet well entertained.

As always Nirit provides a well-scripted story that is bound to bring joy to children who read (or listen to) it. Grady Harp, November 15

Zigi is a very likable alien, a character that children will like. They will like the adventure that Nirit Littaney describes and the drawings by Abira Das. Zigi comes to earth on occasions for short visits to laugh because where he lives, on his planet, aliens are very serious. Zigi sees funny things on earth, the way people, children and adults, act. He sees a man stepping on gum that someone threw on the road, and the man’s shoe slipped off. He saw what a seagull did to a little boy, how people bumped into one another because they weren’t watching where they were walking. And he saw about a dozen more funny things. He laughed so hard he got the hiccups.
Kids will learn much from this book, especially to look around them and see what people are doing; and they will learn to laugh.
