Israeli author Nirit Littaney is a nutritionist, medical coach, and spiritual leader. After being confined to her bed for years by an incurable illness, Nirit experienced the same triumph of spirit that many of her characters undergo in their journeys through lands near and far. She has successfully joined the ranks of children’s books writers – but her stories, while humorous, encourage children to stretch their imagination while learning some valuable lessons. She has wisely elected to have the very talented Abira Das provide the illustrations for this her second of her series about Zigi the Alien to appear on Kindle, The first being Zigi the Alien and the Stinky Socks.
Since we’ve met Zigi the alien before, Nirit explains for first time readers, ‘Zigi is a very friendly and harmless alien. He occasionally visits Earth in his shiny, black spaceship. One of Zigi’s favorite things to do here on Earth is… eat chocolate! On Zigi’s planet, Nepi, there is no chocolate at all. So Zigi comes to Earth to satisfy his sweet tooth! Zigi is so crazy about chocolate; he loves it even more than stinky socks!’ From there we discover that as opposed t chocolate causing problems for some earth children, for Zigi it is a cure for illness. He has a bad cold, lands on earth with moon rocks as money and goes in search for chocolate. In an immensely entertaining series of incidents Zigi the Alien finds chocolate in many formats – including a chocolate spa where children float around in chocolate. Zigi has his fill and even finds chocolate bread being discarded by a deli that he can take back home with him.
The characters and the situation are delightful and this is a story that is bound to make children chuckle. Nirit knows her craft and continues to create terrific books for children. Grady Harp, September 15

Do you like chocolate? How many products made of chocolate can you name?
The author, Nirit Littaney has written another story about my favorite alien, Zigi. Zigi is a wonderful young alien from the planet Nepi. He comes to Earth every so often to visit. This time he came to earth for chocolate. Chocolate for Zigi is a cure for whatever ails him. This time Zigi had a terrible cold, his nose was running, his eyes watering and his throat hurt. On his planet, Nevi, it took a long time for him to get better. Zigi was able to manage his own spaceship, so he decided to get to earth early and have a leisure time. Zigi knew several places where he could get chocolate, and he made sure he brought enough moon rocks to leave as payment. Moon rocks are rare on earth and very valuable. I wonder if you can name the number of places where you can get chocolate. When you read this book, you will find out how many places Zigi went to, what kind of chocolate he had, and if he felt better after eating chocolate.
Parents/teachers will enjoy reading this book to their children. The children will love Zigi because he is so kind and wonderful. They will have fun discussing all the chocolate Zigi had, and they will understand that chocolate could make you feel better. The illustrations by Abira Das are colorful, bright and radiant. The illustrations depict all of Zigi’s adventures. This is a feel good book, Zigi is such a warm, comfortable and kind alien. Note: a complimentary copy of this book was provided to read and review.

I’ve been reading Nirit Littaney’s books to my niece for quite some time now and she has loved every single one of them till date. So, when Nirit offered me a free copy of Zigi the Alien and the Chocolate Cure, I grabbed it immediately and started reading it to my niece.
This storyline revolves around this adorable, harmless alien called Zigi who visits earth in search of chocolate. The entire story is depicted using simple scenarios like findingg chocolate at birthday parties and restaurants. Hats off to Abira Das for the exceptionally adorable illustrations that pump life into this awesome picture book. My niece found the picture where Zigi drinks the hot chocolate directly from the machine super cute and to be honest, so did I. 😛 It took us less than half an hour to read the entire story/picture book and we are now baking chocolate cupcakes and we’re gonna bake an extra one for Zigi.
