I read this book in one sitting and it may be the best book on weight loss I have ever read, and believe you me, I’ve read a few of them, because of my general interest in health and wellness, and of course, how to get off those extra pounds that always seem to be following me around.Anyway, Annie Acorn has shared her own experience and shares it with her readers in a simple, accessible, and no nonsense fashion and with a healthy serving of humor. She writes with the voice of a friend who wants to help and manages it beautifully. Before I had finished reading the book, I had committed to two changes and honestly and truly have turned them into new habits, so in effect, a new way of living — and the best part is — it was and continues to be painless. Have just added a new change and it too has been easy to stick to. Read this book, but only if you want to see some success in your life.

I enjoyed reading this ebook. Not only can I relate to the ups and downs of dieting but I can definitely relate to the “tired older woman” part of the title. She gives me hope and some good ideas on how to create a plan that’s right for me without the restriction and deprivation that dieting brings. It’s written with a sense of humor and I would recommend this book to us older ladies who are tired of dieting and struggling to lose weight.

This book is the best weight loss book I have read. If I saw Annie in the street, I would want her to autograph my kindle. It’s like a good friend (one with a sense of humour) telling me how she lost weight and kept it off. Its a personal success story, not from a Dietician. I needed motivation to start eating healthy again and lose weight. That’s why I purchased this book. It has given me that motivation, some really good tips and great advice. I could relate to this book because of the title as I am an older woman but these great ideas of losing weight I will pass on to my 19 year old daughter. This book is for any aged person wanting to lose weight.

As a nutrition professor I was prepared to find dumbed down or inaccurate information on nutrition — thankfully this was not the case. Ms. Acorn writes very well, she is convincing because she had a plan, it worked, it still works, and she’s not dogmatic about it being the “only way to successful weightloss.” She understands that losing weight is not the issue, rather keeping it off is. Her idea is to make small changes over time and once you adopt a change stick to it. The concept is a good one. My only issue with the book is that it’s very short and although the “plan” is clear, it could benefit from more examples. This worked for her, but other people and plans that worked for them would really add to the book — then it would work well for people who are not tired, people who are young — actually anyone!
