Sweet Surrender

Mari Roe was in no way prepared for the tall, dark, and handsome hunk that walked into her diner, and proceeded to sweep her off of her feet. After spending a very enjoyable evening talking Ki invited Mari to join him on the rest of his business trip. Mari knew what he was really asking, and as tempted as she was, she wasn’t that type of girl. Before she knew what was happening she was on a helicopter flying to join him at a hidden destination, with her stomach in knots.
The lights and glamour that greeted her only made her realize the vast differences between the two of them. The beautiful dress and shoes he had sent for her to wear belonged in the luxurious setting, but she did not. She would bet nothing Ki owned came from a big box store.
Mari struggled on a daily basis to raise her younger sister after their mother died. She worked at the diner and supplemented her income by providing the sleepy little town she grew up in with tasty, and oh so yummy baked goods. That meant working long hours into the night to have everything ready for delivery in the mornings.
What Ki offered was tempting but wasn’t possible. Once her sister left for college Mari wanted to experience for once in her life, what Prince Ki offered. What she felt for him, would be impossible to ever find again. She knew it couldn’t lead to anything more and she had to be able to walk away when it was time with her heart intact.
Prince Kiliad SuMartra at first thought his ever meddlesome parents put the delectable Mari in his path. It would be just like them to push a future daughter-in-law hopeful in front of him. It had happened before. Their demand for his marriage and grandchildren was becoming difficult to ignore. He knew he must marry but no one he had met interested him for more than a casual fling. Until, Mari Roe threw the door of the restaurant open and marched towards him spilling out of a ridiculous harem girl costume.
He knew at that moment she would be so much more. His problem was convincing her to give him a chance to prove they could work.

About the Author

In middle school I discovered my first romance novel by Emily Loring. I quickly read everything “romance” my small town library had on its shelves. I needed more, so with the bravery and/or ignorance of youth, I began to write my own stories. Just for me, nobody even knew that I was writing. Years go by and writing became dormant as my life evolved. Other things like school, husband, and children took precedence in my life. But through it all, my love for reading never dimmed. I was and still am a voracious reader. I can never get enough!

Our two children are now grown and out on their own and that little spark that had been in hibernation for years began to sizzle and then burst into blazing flames. Thanks to a Facebook friendship with my favorite author of all times, I began to write at her prompting. Just a scene at first, I was actually shocked that is wasn’t too bad. It happened slowly. The more I wrote, the more I loved it. No one was more surprised than I was when months later I finished my first book. And absolutely no one was more surprised than I was when I published Sweet Surrender.
Currently I am working a full time job, squeezing writing in when I can, and dreaming of one day…

I loved this book. I couldn’t stop laughing. Mari is the kind of friend I would love to have. And Ki is definitely her Prince Charming, love it! Ty.

I’m a sucker for the the awkwardly funny chance meetings! And this didn’t disappoint. I was partially laid up this weekend and needed something to distract me, Sweet Surrender was a perfect choice. I breezed right through it, and only wished there was more. Great series.

Wow! What a wonderfully fast paced romance story! I loved the small town feel and could easily relate to the characters. I only wish the story was longer! I’m looking forward to Mrs. Scott’s next book!

This book was great for my iPad and iPhone. I enjoyed the fact that I could easily read a few minutes at a time while waiting for my daughter’s swimming practice, park play time, etc. to be finished. The length seemed shorter than most novels, which meant I could actually get through a story, as opposed to the long paperbacks sitting on my nightstand. There were a couple typos, but that is probably typical when you don’t go with a big publishing house. This was a delightful cheesy romance. I’m looking forward to reading the next one by Lizabeth Scott!

Lizabeth Scott is a true story teller! I love the author’s sense of humor. My litmus test for any book is whether I wish it were longer. Sweet Surrender passed with flying colors. I can’t wait to read book two and follow Mari and Ki’s next adventure.

This was a really sweet, sexy story with funny quips and cute dialog with the characters. There was a sensuousness to the plot that was breathtaking and kept it a real page-turner.

I’m always looking for a new author and this one will definitely be on my head’s up list. Ms. Scott has captured the essence of the romance novel perfectly! I like her style, I like her characters and I love her romance!

I can’t wait for her next book!

For a first time writer, I was blown away by this book. I thought the author did an awesome job.
