Love Me Tender by Mimi Barbour
Anne Pichette, a young and foolish exchange student from Paris finds out that life on a real Texas ranch means not only hard work but sexy cowboys and a load of heartache. After her year, she returns home with more than she went with… a baby son and a broken heart.
Clint Walsh never will understand why the woman he married can’t make him feel the same way he did on one of the nights they spent together before the wedding. Their passion had been so perfect that he yearns to experience such a powerful sharing again. In the meantime, his marriage falls apart, he has to fight to keep his little girl and he turns into a hardened, bitter shadow of the once sexy cowboy from his past.
Mimi has the gift of the artist as she describes the delicacies of the Patisserie, the whole place came alive. From Paris we were swept to the US and I will not go further as it will spoil it for the reader. This is a book to be placed on the bookshelf or stored in Kindle Cloud to be read and read again. My congratulations on such a wonderful book.
A fantastic read!! This was a great story about love, secrets, and happiness. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put it down.

This book had it all! Love, betrayal, and a sense of loss. Clint and Rose find each other only to lose each after a night together. When someone keeps a child from their father you know that storyline is always going to be interesting! Clint thought he made the right choice picking the woman that he thought he loved, but as you will read that was not to be the case. I think this book was well written, the characters were well developed, and the storyline moved at a nice pace where you didn’t feel that you were missing out or it wasn’t believable! Great Read!Shauna
Anne had gone to Walsh Creek as an exchange student her senior year in high school. The ranch in Texas was definitely different from Paris. Anne was homesick; but Clint and his mother Rose helped her get over it and have a great time during that year. It could only have been better if Clint had returned her love; but he was mad about Cathy, not her. However, they did have one night that both would remember. Clint would remember because he could not remember the girl he made love to and assumed it was Cathy but he could never repeat the experience. Anne would remember because she became pregnant with her son, Max. Anne returned home and found out she was pregnant but decided not to tell Clint when she received a letter from Rose telling her that Clint and Cathy were to be married and were having a baby. Rather than cause either Clint or Cathy any hurt, she chose not to tell Clint.
Nine years later, Rose comes to France to visit Anne. She tells Anne that Clint divorced Cathy and that Cathy had left her daughter with Clint. Rose had raised her with Clint’s help and now she was eight and very shy and quiet. Rose also told Anne that she was dying of cancer and she need Anne’s help before dying and after she needed her to be there for Debbie. Anne could not resist Rose’s request and heads for Texas.
Clint has changed over the past nine years. He has turned hard and distant like his father had been. Read more ›
