R.H. Koide prays the Spirit of God will give us a better understanding of who we are as created beings, in our relationship with God, the Creator. There remains a possibility, if we could begin to understand through the Holy Spirit, who we are, we might have a better revelation of the God who created mankind.
“Living and Walking in the Spirit” supports this understanding by giving us the example of how a branch cannot bear fruit by itself. The branch can produce fruit only when connected to the vine. We of ourselves cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit, except we can, and should, abide in Jesus Christ. The fruit of the Spirit is Love. When we are connected to Jesus Christ, God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Love will produce in us – love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. There is no law against love or the fruit of the Spirit because it is perfect, blameless, righteous and holy.
Importance of the Holy Spirit. We need the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, to be able to discern, to understand things which are spiritual. The Holy Spirit is a gift from heaven, a free gift, from God the Father and Son Jesus Christ. Every man, woman and child has been given this gift, to guide, teach, direct, and help mankind; to live and walk, in the image of God, perfect, blameless, righteous and holy. Without the Spirit of Love, human beings, coming into the presence of Almighty God would be destroyed.
Living and Walking in the Spirit. Living and walking in the Spirit, we will emulate the example Jesus Christ gave to the world. We have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit, which resides in each one of us. Equipped with the power of God, the Spirit of Love, to live in the flesh body connected in the mind of Christ, we are permitted to approach the throne of Almighty God, with confidence and boldness in Jesus Christ.
Prayer. Help us to live in the true Light, which lighteth up every man that cometh into the world. Through the teachings of the prophets and the apostles, we find “things of the Spirit of God are spiritually discerned.”
For without the Spirit of God, it is impossible for mankind to understand spiritual things. “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” Also, help us, by faith, believe: “If we live in the Spirit of Love, let us also walk in the Spirit of Love.”
Bless us, Heavenly Father, with wisdom, knowledge and understanding, for we ask these blessings, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
The book is divided into two parts: one gives us Scriptural guidance and examples of how Adam was created, from dust, in the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Love and, the second, how man is “born again,” also in the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Love.
