Lifestyle Worship -by Steven Brown
Steve Brown, who has published articles in both the “Reformed Worship” and “Rev” magazines, and authors a BLOG with over 600,000 visits has finally finished his first book titled “Lifestyle Worship – Poems, Prayers and Ministry Resources.”
Lifestyle Worship is a book for any believer that wants to strengthen their faith and energize their worship life. Both the E-Book and paperback versions are currently on sale for the Graduation and Confirmation seasons. The paperback, in particular, would make a wonderful gift for a Confirmand. The E-Book has been reduced to $0.99 (regularly $2.99) but is free with the purchase of the paperback that has been reduced to $9.99 which is the lowest price that the printer recommends. The book is about 250 pages and you will find yourself highlighting lots of it!
The book includes a myriad of poems and prayers written for spiritual growth and contemplation. Many of the poems are introduced with an explanation behind the writing of the piece; whether I was inspired by a particular verse of scripture at the time, working on a children’s message; whatever the case may be. I have also included a bonus section of responsive readings that can be used in the church or for home devotional use.
My hope and my prayer is that the Holy Spirit uses my words to affect your life. I have put my heart and soul into this book and I know that the Holy Spirit within me was the source of my inspiration to write. There are several scripture verses that I could site as particularly inspiring this book but the one that has most meaning to me right now is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 which speaks of a lifestyle of worship:
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
It’s those words “always”, “continually” and “all” that strike a major chord with me.
Here is a sample poem from Lifestyle Worship:
“Well done, good and faithful servant!” – Mt 25:21
I wrote “Pillars” after meeting a missionary from Grenada on-line. He talked about his “pillars of the church” in a blog post that motivated me to write the poem. Who are your pillars? Every church has
at least one.
Pillars are columns;
they are strong,
part of the temple.
Pillars are straight posts
They can stand-alone.
Pillars are upright;
they offer support.
Pillars are champions
They are friends
they provide structure.
Pillars are people
built upon Christ, Our Rock.
“The pillars hold a spiritual family up and hold them together. They have a long history of faithfulness, and they rarely get what they deserve for their service. One day, they will. In the meantime, why wait? Find the pillars in your church and tell them, “ Thanks, we wouldn’t be the same without God’s blessing through you.”
This sale will be in effect until the end of May 2014. Buy the book now! Get inspired! Feel the Passion and let your glorious light shine! See Steve’s Amazon page

Over the weekend I read Steve Brown’s Lifestyle Worship. Steve is a humble yet authentic, honest, and talented servant of Christ. In many ways this book was a devotional for me since it was centered so much on the Word of God. Steve is a genuine gift to the church.
