My partner and a few other writing friends.

Study, public library, kitchen table, coffee lounge, just about anywhere.

No, I write whenever I get the spare time.

Q.    What motivates you to write?

I get involved in my story and want to outcome to be good for my characters as it’s their story.

Q.    What are the biggest distractions to your writing time?

Trying to figure out how to sell my books. TV, Internet, Blog, Trade Me.

Q.    What part of the world do you live in?

New Zealand.

Q.    Are you from there originally?

Q.    Have you ever suffered from writers’ block?

Q.   How do you overcome it?

Go for a walk, read the book reviews and interviews of other authors, see a movie, then inspiration will come.

.Have you taken any writers’ courses and have they been worthwhile?

Yes, a creative writing course and a novel-writing course. Both were very helpful.

Q.Have you ever belonged to a writers’ group? And what value did you gain from it?

Yes, I gained a lot through going into the various short-story writing competitions they held and then getting feedback on my writing which helped me improve. Also we had speakers who were authors and they were inspiring too.

Q.Is self-publishing satisfying enough for you or would you prefer to be traditionally published?

Probably traditionally published.

Q.Have you ever tried to find an agent?

Yes but she let me down badly.

Q.What would you expect an agent could do for you that you can’t do for yourself?

Hopefully do the selling and advertising part while I got on with the writing part.

Q.Do you think you can make a full-time career being an Indie writer?

I hope so but am unsure about this.

Q.How long have you been writing?

Since about 2003

Q.What drew you to want to write a book?

I don’t know but it’s something I’d wanted to do for a long time.

Q.From where did you get the idea for this current story?

From my imagination mostly and from life in general.

Q.How did you go about developing it?

I developed my main characters’ stories first and from there the story-line developed.

Q.   What is your next project?

Writing another novel, but in a slightly different genre. I started it about two years ago and want to finish it after my current one
