Madison Renault is a client service manager and single mom living in New Jersey. Raleigh St. James is the new CEO of an engineering firm in Connecticut, and Madison’s biggest client. Madison starts to receive threats from a disgruntled former employee, and Raleigh uncovers a web of corruption, targeting businesses up and down the East coast, including his own. Now their already complicated lives are being invaded by bodyguards, local police, and the FBI. Will their budding, long distance, relationship survive the stress?
Award winning author of The Bradford Series historical romance novels, Christina Paul, mom of three, is married to her childhood sweetheart and lives with him in Central New Jersey. She loves escaping into the written world of her characters and enjoys watching the stories unfold as she writes, letting it surprise her as it does her readers. An initial meeting starts with a spilled cup of coffee as one pair of intense blue eyes lock on the other. Their budding work relationship is then further entangled by increasing threats and discovery of major fraud on a corporate level. Besieged by corruption, they are forced to build a bond of trust as they are surrounded by body guards, police and FBI. The authorities can protect their lives, but can they protect their hearts?
CORPORATE BLUES is a fast moving, modern romance of several people who need to heal from previous relationships. While dealing with grief, the lives of their families are threatened by nefarious characters. Christina Paul has gifted us with a beautiful romance where new lovers become friends and are concerned with feelings and family as they learn to love again, if they live long enough to do so.
Two thirty-something women live in the same house in New Jersey, each with a teenage son, and neither of them with a husband. What are the odds of both of them finding their Prince Charming at just about the same time. Corporate Blues weaves together a story involving an unstable co-worker on one side, while on the other side there exists a corporate plot to defraud a Connecticut company whose CEO is a widower and very much attracted to one of these women.
The two separate dangers necessitate help from local police and the FBI. I read this book in one weekend, finding myself returning to it every chance I had until the ending. A very enjoyable read.
I loved the romantic development between M & R. It seemed like a natural transition, not rushed at all. And I loved the added friendship of M & D and their sons growing up together. Long-lasting friendship is hard to come by and their relationship was portrayed perfectly.
I would recommend this novel to any adult in any sort of transition period. It was definitely relatable (even if you haven’t had the misfortune of dealing with a stalker or two) and had the perfect mesh of every day life, romance and suspense.
