My family and friends of course!

I have the pleasure of having my own ‘Women cave’

I write whenever I can.  After work, after dropping mys son off at school, when everyone is asleep…

Q.    What motivates you to write?  .

My imagination I have a very active imagination, I daydream a lot.

Q.   What are the biggest distractions to your writing time?

My son and my husband, you know how men are, gotta have attention

Q.    What part of the world do you live in?

I live in Georgia, a city called Hampton.

Q.    Are you from there originally?

Nope, born in Texas (Army brat) Grew up in Union city, Georgia. Got married and then moved to Hampton

Q.    Have you ever suffered from writers’ block?

Not really sure as I’ve never let it get to that point.  When I get ‘stuck’ I usually go do something else.  I love video games and I have quite a few other stories that I have been writing on.

Q.    How do you overcome it?

Was always told to go do something else.  I have quite a few hobbies to keep me going

Q. Have you taken any writers’ courses and have they been worthwhile?

I have never taken a writing course…although I may in the future to fine tune my grammar issues …I just hate school!  The thought of homework drives me nuts!

Q. Have you ever belonged to a writers’ group? And what value did you gain from it?

I belong to a lot actually on Facebook. They all have their good advice and I have used quite a few of the suggestions and ideas given to me to help further my work.

Q. Is self-publishing satisfying enough for you or would you prefer to be traditionally published?

I have no experience with traditional publishing, I think I want to give it a try wit one or two of my stories as I’ve seen a few authors working both sides and having no issues with it. But self publishing has been fun so far.  I’m honestly enjoying chasing folks down to read my book or promoting my book.

Q. Have you ever tried to find an agent?

I can’t say that I have truly tried to.

Q. What would you expect an agent could do for you that you can’t do for yourself?

Get more sales or public appearances.

Q. Do you think you can make a full-time career being an Indie writer?

I would love to! I enjoy writing and have a lot of stories I would love to put out there to the public!

Q. How long have you been writing?

Since elementary school.  My first story was about a butterfly named stop-go. (LOL)  it had wings that alternated between green and red and it ended up directing traffic or something like that.

Q. What drew you to want to write a book?

The threat of turning 40 and not doing anything with all the notes and papers and pads and journals and saved files on my computer.  It’s time.

Q. From where did you get the idea for this current story?

In middle school the shows and movies I watched mingled and mixed in my warped mind and created it.  Solarbabies, Xanadu, x-men, Firestarter, etc.

Q. How did you go about developing it?

Red summer grew with me, it changed and morphed so many times and so many ways till it got to this.

Q. What is your next project?

The sequel; Wil’s Winter – Five years later.
